For a long time I've worked on and off creating costumes from images that I've seen. I've always enjoyed the process of bringing people's designs out into the real world and now I've decided that I would like to share that process. What you see here will be the journey from the beginning to the end of each outfit and prop that I have decided to create. I hope that what I do may bring inspiration to others as much as other blogs have brought much inspiration to me.

The Gardens of May is my sanctuary. A place that is warm like the colors of autumn and forever new like the beginnings of spring.

If you'd like to contact me with any questions or commission queries, feel free to send an email to gardensofmay@gmail.com.

WIP: Christmas Companion Cube

Originally, this little creation started off as a joke between a friend of mine and I. It was the week before Christmas and I was halfway through sewing a companion cube plush toy as one of the items I wanted to put into the store that I was going to be helping man at the up coming convention when the idea of a christmas themed companion cube was brought up.

It has to be gingerbread!

Was one of the things that was mentioned.

With white frosting!

I embellished.

And the heart idea was suggested by my boyfriend. Two candy canes joined together to create a heart.

What you see here are all the little pieces that are going to be attached to the cube. The circle parts there are the centre of each panel, the parts you can see closest to you in the image overlap the sides and then the piece you can see on the right is the corner...

Oh...

It's probably easier if I show you.

This is the work in progress of the gingerbread Christmas companion cube. The white patches (apart from one) haven't been sewn down yet, this was just pinned together so I can see how it might turn out after I had stuffed it and I'm going to say I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Gingerbread Companion cube is going to be a one off unless someone requests a specific commission from me. I'm going to be selling it at WaiCon in January along with four other companion cubes, three normal ones and...another special one that I'll be revealing later when it's complete.

I'll have a proper post for this one when it's complete.

From me and gingerbread cube, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
